During his lengthy tenure with the USDA Rich participated in numerous prominent regulatory enforcement cases. As both a Supervisory Investigator, and a Deputy District Manager, he was directly involved with investigation, evidence collection, and regulatory enforcement actions that resulted in recalls from commerce of millions of pounds of food products. Those regulatory actions were due to issues such as product adulteration, failure to meet basic specifications, mislabeling, falsified labeling, import / export issues, and sanitation violations including rodent infestation at the production site. He presented many cases to the US Attorneys’ office for prosecution and served as a recall officer for his district. His thorough knowledge of the Federal Meat Inspection Act, Poultry Products Inspection Act, Egg Products Inspection Act, Humane Slaughter Act, and federal food safety regulations, provide an impressive foundation for his ability to provide substantive expert regulatory guidance to your litigation cases.
